Commencing in the 2005, The Transformative Travel Research Project is an ongoing longitudinal study looking at what it means to transform through physical travel in a modern, mobile world. More than 80 individuals, from 18 different countries have provided accounts over the course of the project. Willing participants have take part in a series of interviews and many been interviewed every two to three years since 2005 to explore ongoing transformations through travel (both physical and non-physical), and ongoing life journeys.
Much of this work was captured in the recent publication Transformative Travel in a Mobile World (CABI, 2016) and three open access companion eBooks – see Publications for further details.
